The Future of Spa Careers Is Not One Straight Line

The old spa career path was easy to draw: therapist, senior therapist, supervisor, manager, director. Real careers have always been more complicated than that, and the industry is finally catching up.\n\nA professional may combine a permanent role with education. A senior practitioner may choose residencies instead of management. A former Director may move into consulting, brand work or project openings. Agency work can provide flexibility between permanent positions.\n\nNone of these routes are automatically better. The important thing is understanding what you are building. What skills are you gaining? What evidence will the next chapter require? What kind of working life do you actually want?\n\nThe strongest careers are increasingly portfolios of experience, not just a sequence of titles.
